Our Story

The Holy Quran in Surah Al-Imran (3:185) states that ‘Every soul (will) taste [the] death’.

 كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ

This is fact.   It is narrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammed (saw) that,“It is the duty of a Muslim who has something to be given as a bequest not to spend two nights without writing a Will (Wasiyat) about it.”

When we discuss the term Will, all too often there is much confusion about its precise definition. Some assume it to be a document that basically distributes a momin’s wealth after they have died. With the clear instructions handed down to us in the Holy Qur’an and through the Hadiths, we can see that the wealth is strictly distributed into fixed portions. Some of this wealth can bequeathed to beneficiaries who may not be amongst those who are necessarily from the closest members of the family. These are the ones who would benefit from the two-thirds of the estate after any debts and expenses have been paid. The Will (Wasiyat), also allows the deceased to help many people or organisations such as charities or any poor person who may not otherwise inherit. Much emphasis is given to hadiths such this one;

“A man may do good deeds for seventy years but if he acts unjustly when he leaves his last testament, the wickedness of his deed will be sealed upon him, and he will enter the Fire.  If, (on the other hand), a man acts wickedly for seventy years but is just in his last Will (Wasiyat) and testament, the goodness of his deed will be sealed upon him, and he will enter the Garden.”

All sane Muslim’s should have a properly prepared Will (Wasiyat) that is divided according to Sunnah, created with the right mental capacity and not under any influence or through fraudulent means.   By doing this, your wealth will be distributed as you intended and thus give you a peace of mind.
Our team consists of Muslim’s from a diverse set of problem-solvers and thus the idea for Al-Samad Wills came about to us after we kept on hearing from family, friends and other Momin brothers and sisters who faced difficulties in drafting an Islamic Will here in the United Kingdom. They expressed their frustrations at many of the other Will writers who were either too expensive or that the process was too long drawn out and complicated.

To overcome such difficulties, we at Al-Samad Wills created this website to assist our brothers and sisters so that their process of creating an Islamic Law (Shariah) compliant Will is cost effective, accessible and compliant with the UK law.   In effect a worry-free process that is reliable and trusted.

We at Al-Samad Wills aim to ensure that all Momin brothers and sisters are able to manage all their testamentary affairs, including the distribution of their estate and appointing guardians for their children in a manner that is in accordance to their Taqlid and religion.
